Over the past year, the Ohio Deans Compact has continued to demonstrate the power of collaboration in strengthening Ohio’s educator workforce and improving outcomes for students across the state.
Through innovative incentive grants and strategic partnerships, institutions of higher education, PK–12 schools, educational service centers, and state agencies have worked together to tackle critical workforce challenges while creating new opportunities for future educators and learners. From expanding teacher apprenticeship pathways and cultivating future educators in high school, to increasing STEM opportunities for students with disabilities and advancing blended/integrated educator preparation, each initiative reflects a shared commitment to building a stronger education system for Ohio.
The Compact also continued to connect education leaders through statewide conferences, quarterly meetings, and collaborative learning opportunities focused on workforce readiness, literacy, and systems improvement—helping institutions align their work with Ohio’s evolving priorities while sharing practices that can be replicated across the state.
As we look ahead, the momentum continues. Together, Ohio’s higher education community and its partners are building innovative pathways, strengthening educator preparation, and creating lasting impact for students and schools.
